アメリカ南部バージニア州の自治体の建物の中で男が銃を乱射して、これまでに11人が死亡、６人がけがをして病院に搬送されました。警察によりますと、男は市の職員で警察との撃ち合いで死亡したということで、警察が犯行の動機を調べています。
バージニア州バージニアビーチにある市の行政窓口などが入った建物で31日午後４時ごろ、男が複数の階を移動しながら銃を乱射して、これまでに11人が死亡、６人がけがをしました。
警察によりますと、容疑者の男は市の職員で警察との銃撃戦の末、死亡したということです。
警察は、死亡した人たちの身元の確認を急ぐとともに、関係先を捜索するなどして、事件当時の状況や容疑者が犯行に至った動機を調べています。

A longtime city employee who had been fired entered a municipal building in Virginia Beach, Va., Friday afternoon to exact revenge, law-enforcement officials said. He shot indiscriminately, killing at least 11 and injuring six others.

DeWayne Craddock, 40 years old, had made multiple firearm purchases in recent weeks, officials said.
