The GV80’s Highway Driving Assist II* not only works to help maintain a set speed and a healthy distance between you and other cars ahead, it also helps you stay centered in your lane and assists you in making lane changes when requested.

Highway Driving Assist II (HDA2), when used in conjunction with Lane Following Assist and Smart Cruise Control, is for highway use only and can help keep your vehicle centered in its lane while maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles ahead when the lane markings are clearly visible on the road. HDA2 should not be used in poor weather, heavy or varying traffic, or on winding or slippery roads. HDA2 will not work under all circumstances and will not prevent loss of control. Driver remains responsible to slow or stop the vehicle to avoid a collision. HDA2 may not function correctly if one or more of the vehicle sensors is damaged, dirty or covered or if weather conditions (heavy rain, snow or fog) are interfering with the sensor operation. Always drive carefully and use extreme caution when other vehicles are present. See Owner’s Manual for details and limitations.

タイガー・ウッズ、自損事故で重傷　米報道「標準以上のスピード」「ブレーキ痕なし」

　米男子ゴルフのタイガー・ウッズ（４５）が２３日朝（日本時間２４日未明）、カリフォルニア州ロサンゼルス近郊で自損事故を起こし、病院へ救急搬送された、と複数の米メディアが伝えた。同選手の代理人を務めるマーク・スタインバーグ氏は声明で事故はウッズ単独によるものだったとし、「脚を複数箇所負傷しており、現在、手術を受けています」と発表した。
　米ＣＮＢＣ電子版が、ロサンゼルス郡保安官事務所の担当者らの話として伝えたところによると、ウッズが運転する高級ＳＵＶはこの日午前７時すぎ、中央分離帯に衝突した後、車体を傾けながら道路脇にある低木の茂みに突っ込んだとみられる。現場は事故多発地帯として知られているという。
　掲載された事故現場の写真には、車体はデコボコ、タイヤはひん曲がり、ボンネットが開いた状態で横転した無残な姿が写されており、事故のすさまじさを物語っていた。ウッズは特殊重機を使って車外へ救出された際には意識はあり、救急隊員に「名前はタイガーです」と告げたという。
　また、事故当時の運転速度についてアレックス・ビラヌエバ保安官が「スピードは比較的標準以上」とコメント。「事故現場にブレーキ痕はなかった」、「生還できたことは非常に幸運だった」といった関係者の話も伝えた。
