新政権への移行を見据え、政府は新しいアメリカ大使に、外務省北米局長の経験もある冨田浩司・韓国大使を起用する方向で調整に入りました。後任の韓国大使には、相星孝一・イスラエル大使を起用する方針です。
冨田氏は、63歳。
昭和56年に外務省に入り、北米局長やイスラエル大使などを務めたほか去年6月に開かれたG20大阪サミットでは、議長国・日本の担当大使として首脳宣言のとりまとめなどにあたり、その後、韓国大使に就任しました。
政府は、アメリカ側の事前同意が得られ次第、いまの杉山晋輔大使の後任として正式に決めることにしていて、冨田氏は、良好な日米関係の維持・強化に向けて、新政権との関係構築などに取り組むことになります。

一方、相星氏は、61歳。
韓国公使などを経ておととしからイスラエル大使を務めています。
政府としては、太平洋戦争中の「徴用」をめぐる問題や慰安婦問題などで日韓関係が冷え込む中、韓国駐在の経験が豊富な相星氏を起用し、事態打開に向けた糸口を探るものとみられます。

I just found out Smartmatic software was used in the election (from Venezuela). The Philippines used them in the 2016 election. The VP result result was contested due to massive fraud. To this day, it hasn’t been resolved.
