(c)AFP

The cabinets of Franck Riester and Marlène Schiappa reacted after the publication of the "Libération" investigation on a stalker-voyeur who acted for almost ten years with impunity.

Perverse interviews at the ministry: the government between support and embarrassment

The diuretic business continues to make waves in government. Christian N., a senior civil servant at the Ministry of Culture, was indicted in late October for having administered diuretics to young women who had come for a job interview in order to see them urinate in front of him. For nearly ten years, he had also photographed them discreetly before recording his "experiences" in an Excel file. As Libération explained, the victims - more than 200 to date, according to a list written by the stalker himself - are at a dead end. A listening unit has been opened to receive their word, but most have never been heard or even contacted. This situation creates a stir between ministerial offices. On Europe 1 Friday morning, Franck Riester, whose cabinet had not responded to our requests, simply replied that "justice [would] make the necessary decisions."

"Good interlocutor"
For the victims, it is insufficient: they want explanations. Why did the Ministry of Culture not receive them once the known facts and Christian N. revoked? Among them, Alizée had decided to contact directly the cabinet of Marlène Schiappa, who had helped her in her company. The entourage of the Secretary of State also confirms these exchanges with Libération: "A counselor Marlene Schiappa spent a lot of time listening to and accompany this process to guide him to the right person." The good interlocutor in this case was Agnès Saal, senior civil servant at the Ministry of Culture, who "was to contact Alizée" according to the entourage of Marlène Schiappa. After the publication of the survey, some enraged the government. According to our information, Agnès Saal was questioned Friday morning and she assured to have contacted Alizée. Version that strongly contests the latter since the beginning of the case: "This is perfectly false, neither Agnès Saal nor the cell listening contacted me." Moreover, according to the same government source, Agnès Saal n ' was "not able to tell if the cell was still active".

On the side of the Rue de Valois, it is always radio silence. Agnès Saal, contacted about this quack, had not followed Friday afternoon. Yet it is today to the Ministry of Culture that all eyes look to understand how such a situation may have occurred. "I do not know," Franck Riester eluded on Europe 1. In the entourage of Marlene Schiappa, we prefer to let it take things in hand: "We are convinced that the Minister of Culture will take all necessary measures since this "In a series of tweets, the Secretary of State for Equality between Women and Men also wanted to bring" all [her] warm support to the victims of these reprehensible actions " and unworthy ". Franck Riester, for his part, invited his agents to "speak" and affirmed his wish "to accompany those who have the courage to reveal this kind of business". In a listening cell?
